The London-based fashion brand, is supposed to design and sell lingerie... Supposed is the important word here, because even the most jaded fashionistas have a hard time trying to pin point and categorize this brand.
Thanks to British designer Alex Popa's flair for stylish innovation, Bordelle - a name looking like the feminisation of the French term for "brothel" - has pleasantly surprised many industry powers, including Director of Lingerie at Selfridges Department Store, Sebastian Manes. This is the reason why it is now the newest addition to the Selfridges Lingerie Department.
Unclassificable, Bordelle's pieces seem inspired by S&M aesthetics, and are equally wearable as underwear of outerwear for some of them. Popa refers to it as "bodywear", term sometimes employed for work-out or yoga clothes.
Another fantastic news to add to Bordelle's positive momentum, celebrity stylist William Baker chose the brand for Britney Spears Circus tour outfits as long as in her controversial video for the song "If you seek Amy".
Geometrically intertwinned satiny ribbons strategically revealing bits of flesh, classy colours like beige, black, ivory, soft grey, interesting mix of shapes are Bordelle's signature style which has seduced so many trendy shoppers so far!
Next time you come by London, have a look at Bordelle's creations in the famous Oxford Street department store's lingerie section or even better, sign up for their soon-to-be-opened online shop!
