Movie about Coco Chanel to lead the Chanelmania

Coco Avant Chanel (which litterally translates as Coco before Chanel) has come out in French theaters a few weeks ago taking the fashonistas' world by storm and is set for a release in selected theaters in the UK on the 22th of April.

In this motion picture, the first of two major biopics on Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel, last century's biggest marking figure in fashion, you'll be able to have director Anne Fontaine's take on the famous « Mademoiselle »'s life and lifestyle. Portrayed by Audrey Tautou of « Amelie » fame, the early life of the Paris couturier leading to her successful debuts as a hatmaker is depicted on screen with Alessandro Nivola playing Arthur 'Boy' Capel, her first lover and Belgian stars Benoît Poelvoorde and Marie Gillain respectively in the role of Mister Balsan, her first host and that of her sister.

Tautou is also the heroine of the new Chanel No 5 advertising campaign directed by her mentor, Jean-Pierre Jeunet soon to blitz the media at the end of the month. Moreover, it will be shortly followed by another rival movie on Chanel's love affair with Igor Stavinsky and a TV movie starring Shirley McLaine.

This nostalgia omits to mention her collaboration with the Nazis during WW2 triggering some controversial responses. Either way, the buzz is well on for this unique movie and any fashionhead worthy of this name loves some scandal, so rush to theaters, fashionistas!
